As a saxophonist, Sonja is always working together with different artists and art disciplines to present new art performances.

For this purpose, different concert format are developed again and again. 

Here is a small insight into the last project together with the artist Udo Hohenberger.

SOMNIUM DUO

contemporary ensemble

As the Latin word “somnium” (dream) suggests, the two young musicians Sonja Oberkofler and Mark Seres have set themselves the goal of creating new repertoire in contemporary music and sharing it with the world.

With the two instruments saxophone and guitar, the duo creates fascinating new soundscapes – a rarely heard line-up. The use of electric guitar and various saxophones, often complemented by electronics, opens up completely new possibilities in the development of their repertoire.

SAGS QUARTET

Saxophone Quartet

The name from the quartet derives from the German word “sags”, which means “say it”. It is a symbol of their mission, to communicate with the audience through music.

The ensemble’s repertoire includes original works as well as arrangements of classical and contemporary music that reflect the various tonal facets of the saxophone. The four musicians also enrich the music with poems by renowned South Tyrolean authors.

DIE BREMER STADTSMUSIKANTEN

The dutch musical theatre, which was awarded the Junior Grachtenfestival Prize in 2017, has been performed at various festivals such as the Grachtenfestival, Festival Oranjewoud, Festival Theater Boulevard and Festival Classique as well as in primary schools.

The German folk tale by the Brothers Grimm is brought to life in a musical performance for children to familiarise them with classical music and introduce them to various instruments such as the flute, saxophone and trombone.
